A Festival of Carols was held at St Thomas Roman Catholic Church at 8pm. The collection of £3,833.98, the highest ever received, was taken in aid of Les Amis, a charity who aim to ensure that people with learning difficulties or associated conditions reach their full potential in life. The attendance was the highest we have seen in recent years with standing room only from about 30 minutes before the start.

  "SURPRISE!

Surprises are of several sorts and many kinds

And usually I'm in the know, before

They are revealed to our inquiring minds,

So I’m prepared for what might be in store!

But.... when we were called forward to the front

We had no inkling what it could be for,

And thought  it was that we must bear the brunt

Of misdemeanours we had done before!

But NO!  it was to give us Choral Thanks

For thirty years of serving our great Choir:-

A lovely painting of the rocky banks

Near Pontac - our home, - and us to INSPIRE!

We'll see it every morning from our bed,

Reminding us of things we've sung and said!
